The Nagami Kumquat may be one of the best Citrus varieties for container growing. It's widely considered a remarkable ornamental, because of its symmetrical leaves and brightly colored fruit. But the Kumquat also has extraordinary cold-tolerance, withstanding temperatures below 20° F. The Nagami Kumquat's oval-shaped fruit is usually eaten whole, including the sweet fleshy rind. This is the most popular commercially cultivated Kumquat in Florida. It is also grown commercially throughout China and Japan.
