SHIPPING INFORMATION

BEFORE YOUR TREE ARRIVES . . .
Bareroot Trees: Prior to shipping, we dip the roots of every tree in an organic root-stimulant/anti-transpirant. We then bag them in peat moss. We've found this method provides more stability in shipping. Plus, your plants aren't as likely to suffer a bad case of transplant shock. Even though plants are shipped in a soil medium, you should be prepared to pot them within a few days of receipt. For our large, we recommend a 7 to 10-gallon container. (Check out our Perfect Citrus Planter). Our small trees can be planted in a one to three-gallon pot. Citrus grows best in a sand/peat-bark mix. Such may be labeled as "rose mix" or "orchid mix" at your local garden center. Unless we specify otherwise, a general potting mix is adequate for our herbs and other plants. Transplanting information is also available in the Gardening 101 section of our web site. Transplant shock is quite common with bareroot mail-ordered plants. Do not be alarmed if some or all leaves drop shortly after your new tree is potted. If you follow our growing instructions, your tree will sprout new growth within a short period. Recovery may take longer during winter months.

Containerized Trees: These arrive in our own soil mixture, planted in a nursery quality container. Containerized specimens do not usually suffer transplant shock, but should be watered shortly after you receive them. As well, these trees should be kept in partial shade for a few days prior to moving into full sun.

We include detailed growing instructions with every order.

At Acorn Springs Farms, business is open year round and we make a constant effort to maintain an inventory. We have found that the majority of plants can be safely shipped during most parts of the year. However, there are exceptions. In cases of extreme temperatures (origin or destination) we will postpone shipping until conditions are more favorable. If you have provided a valid e-mail address with your order, we will send tracking information to you upon processing your shipping. As well, we will keep you updated on weather-pending shipments. We ship live trees on Mondays & Tuesdays only, to avoid idle time during transit. If you place your order after 6:00am (central) on Monday, shipment may be delayed until the next day, or until the following week. Shipping costs vary and may also change with little or no notice. Acorn Springs Dwarf Citrus does not charge a 'handling' fee.

Effective 5/12/05: We cannot be responsible for additional transit charges which may result in undeliverable packages. Undeliverable packages include those being shipped to apartment complexes during a period when no one is available to take delivery. If you feel this may present a problem for you, please have the tree shipped to your daytime place of business, or to an address that is habitated during daytime hours (8am-7pm). We typically ship live trees in boxes that are 36"-40" tall and 8"-12" square.

Effective 10/01/05 :  Should you wish to ship a tree via Air (2 or 3 day shippping) you must call 888 442 2676 and place you order. Shipping cost going Air will typically be at least double that of ground shipment. We can give you exact cost.

If you have any questions regarding the shipment of your order, please do not hesitate to contact us via e-mail (sales@acornsprings.com), toll free telephone (888) 442-2676, or fax (903) 668-1623. You will get a shipment notice via e-mail from Fed-X that will contain tracking information, providing you including a working e-mail address when you placed your order.

Because of agricultural regulations, we cannot ship citrus to FL, AZ or CA.
We do not ship citrus internationally.
